Distance craniosacral therapy and somatics sessions let you experience the power of healing from the comfort of home.
What is a Distance Craniosacral Therapy & Somatics Session?
For me, a distance craniosacral and somatics session starts with tuning in to another person from the heart and establishing a connection, much like a radio tunes in to a frequency. We do this all of the time, even if we’re not aware of it.
After connecting, the session draws on my decade-plus experience with biodynamic craniosacral therapy and somatic verbal skills. Together, you and I create a shared healing space in which your body can slowly relax, settle, and turn on its own healing ability.
What Can I Expect?
I’ll check in with you verbally first, to get a sense of how you’re doing and what your session priorities are, as well as to start the process of settling. If it’s a first session, we’ll also take some extra time to go over your health history.
Next, you can get into a comfortable position and, if appropriate, I will “hold” your body remotely and feel in my hands what’s happening in your body. Your body will do all of the same adjustments and releases it would in person. We may also track your inner perceptions aloud together, working with imagery, sensations, or other body experiences to help old traumas or issues process.
For you, the experience may feel like a gentle slowing down and relaxing, a settling out of worry or stress into wholeness and well-being. At other times, you may feel more activated or stirred up as old energies and stuck places surface for attention. We will work to slow these down so they can move through in small, digestible bites. I will stay with you on the line the entire time.
After the session, you may wish to continue lying there to let the work further unfold and integrate. Or you may wish to debrief and share your experience with me for a couple of minutes—this can be very integrating.
I can work with you by Zoom, Skype, or Facetime…or simply over the phone. If you’re a first-time client, it’s helpful to meet first over video, just to put a face to the voice. For the distance session itself, all you need is a quiet place where you can sit and lie down, and any pillows, blankets, or other supports you need for your comfort.
What Are Clients Saying?
Here’s what some of my distance craniosacral therapy and somatics clients have had to say:
“After working with Virginia for four months, I often go more than a week without pain and my overall pain levels are much lower. But I felt major healing in our first session and started to improve right away including better sleep. I am healing after six years of chronic back pain that left me feeling like I had no options. This therapy is groundbreaking and Virginia’s knowledge, skill, and compassion make her therapy something I highly recommend!”
~ Shannon
“I’ve felt better after our last session. I don’t understand why or how, but there you go.”
~ Susie
“Remember when you said my whole right leg just rotated? I have had low back problems on and off for years. The last 3 or 4 weeks, the right side has been bothering me to the point that I’ve been thinking about calling my chiropractor. I hate doing that because sometimes it helps and sometimes it makes it worse. Anyway after that rotation the aching pain went away completely.”
~ Elizabeth
“A session with Virginia is like visiting that quiet witch in the woods when life has gotten too overwhelming and chaotic. You sit down, start talking, she gently holds space and maybe takes your hand, and then before you know it, an hour has passed and you just feel better. It’s powerful yet unassuming work.
Every time I work with her, whether we’re discovering my body’s fierce boundaries coming back online, finding out what a chronic symptom needs to feel better, or I’m taking a much needed cat nap to process while she energetically holds my feet, I reconnect to that healing presence and capacity within that is able to compassionately be with all the emotions and sensations moving through me without judgment. Virginia is kind, awake to life’s nuances, and an amazing practitioner of energy healing. Her practice is a gift for sensitive souls and bodies in these turbulent times.”
